The Country Church at Sunset

"A poetry capturing the serene beauty of a local church in the countryside during a sunset."

RDP Wednesday – SUNSET

In the countryside, where the hills roll on for miles,
Stands a local church, that has been there for a while.
Its walls are made of stone, rugged and old,
And its stained-glass windows, a sight to behold.

As the sun sets behind the church, it casts a warm glow,
Orange and pink hues spread across the sky like a show.
The bell inside the tower tolls a gentle chime,
As the world outside begins to unwind.

A quiet hush falls over the land,
As the light fades and darkness expands.
But the church remains, standing proud and tall,
A symbol of hope, for one and all.

The fields around it, now bathed in shadows,
But the church stands bright, like a beacon that glows.
And in the distance, the sound of a choir,
Drifts across the countryside, higher and higher.

This simple church, in the midst of nature's embrace,
Is a sanctuary of peace, a holy place.
And as the sun finally sets, behind the hill,
The church stands sentinel, calm and still.
