Soaring High: An Eagle's Tale of Flight

"Follow the journey of a bald eagle as he reflects on the freedom and beauty of flight."

One Word Sunday - Flight

I was sitting on my porch, enjoying the sun when I saw a bald eagle in the distance. It was circling high up in the sky, then suddenly, it started to dive toward the water. I watched in amazement as it swooped down and snatched up a catfish with its sharp talons. As it took flight once again, I couldn't help but feel envious of the bald eagle's freedom.

To be able to soar through the air, high above the world, with nothing but the wind beneath your wings, must be an incredible feeling. To be able to hunt for food, to survive on your own, is a level of independence that I could only dream of. I imagined myself as the bald eagle, gliding through the clouds, with the world below me.

But then, reality hit me. I couldn't be a bald eagle. I wasn't built for flight. I couldn't survive on my own in the wilderness. I was tethered to the ground by my own limitations, and I would have to find my own way to soar.

As I watched the bald eagle disappear into the distance, I felt a sense of gratitude for the experience. It reminded me that even though I may never be able to fly like a bald eagle, I can still find my own way to soar. I can work hard, push myself to be better, and achieve great things. I can find my own version of flight, and soar to new heights.

The bald eagle may have been a reminder of what I could never be, but it was also a reminder of what I could become. With hard work and determination, I could achieve my dreams and soar to new heights. I would never be a bald eagle, but I could still be the best version of myself.

  1. The images are a bit scary. I would like to see him from a bit further away to really feel the soaring that you talk about.

    1. I can understand why some readers might find the images of the eagle's flight a bit intimidating. But I believe that's precisely what makes the story so powerful - the sense of awe and wonder mixed with a hint of fear. Thank you, for your response. 😊
